dunaPart7 – Platform of Hungarian Contemporary Performing Arts
Date: 18-21 November 2026 Budapest, Hungary
Organized by: Trafó House of Contemporary Arts
DunaPart is a platform presenting the works of Hungarian and local makers for an international audience of professionals in order to sustain existing networks and create new connections, to grant visibility to the Hungarian independent performing arts scene by offering an intense programme biannually.
To realize that, the main organizer, Trafó partners with various venues and organizations, among others Bethlen Theater, Jurányi Art Incubator House, MU Theater, SÍN Arts Center, Szkéné Theater and Workshop Foundation. Performances are open to the general public.
The artistic programme is composed of around two dozen performances and events selected by a curatorial team from theater, dance, puppetry, circus and hybrid works that have premiered since the last platform. The list of participating artists and companies will be announced in the beginning of August and the programme in early September. Curators of the 2026 edition are Judit BÖRÖCZ (performing arts specialist), Ádám CZIRÁK (theater and dance historian, dramaturg), Noémi HERCZOG (theater critic, aesthete), Beatrix KRICSFALUSI (theater historian), Léna SZIRMAY-KALOS (curator), Gábor THURY (curator, dramaturg). Discussions, site visits and diverse informal networking opportunities form an integral part of the platform programme.
dunaPart’s objective is to present recent productions by both well know and up and coming artists and to create space for the actors of the Hungarian independent scene - cultural workers, artist, managers, theoreticians - to meet their peers and colleagues and engage in exchange about their activities and interest, to seek out new opportunities to collaborate in order to be able to work in more diverse contexts on the long run and to internationalize their work.
This edition is a continuation of a successful series of platforms starting in 2008. The previous editions brought important collaborations and partnerships to the Hungarian independent field – amongst others to Viktor Szeri, László Göndör, HODWORKS, Kristóf Kelemen and to projects such as Necromancy, Fatigue and Living the Dream with Grandma. We hope once again to facilitate not only invitations but also much needed long term collaborations. Based on turnout for previous editions we count on 150-200 international guests.
Registration opens on 25 June 2026.
Early bird fee applies between 25 June and 15 September
