Eva Duda Dance Company celebrates its 10th anniversary @ DunaPart platform
Celebrating their jubilee this autumn, the team of Eva Duda Dance Company came up with the idea of giving an informal and relaxing party on the 2nd day of the Platform starting at 22.30pm. Those who attend the event will also get a glimpse of the Company’s work: during the night there will be short pop-up performances, and screenings of photos and videos of the works of Eva Duda.
After an exhausting day of watching shows, and having serious talks, it’s great to have a nice drink, enjoy each other’s company and fine food in a special ship-venue. It is a great opportunity to network freely with artists and guests in a relaxing atmosphere. All guests and artists of the Platform are warmly welcome!
Venue: Trip-ship
Trip-ship is a pontoon, moored on the Danube in the middle of the city, right opposite the Parliament building. You can enjoy a beautiful view from its upper deck. It operates a club, a restaurant, and a theatre, as well as being a host to a wide variety of cultural projects. Remarkably, the ship consists of a concert hall, a café restaurant, a lounge hall and an open deck.
Elements of this event will take place in different parts of the ship.
After the last official show on the 28th November, a shuttle bus will take the guests to the venue. There will be another shuttle bus that will take the guests to their hotels at the end of the party.
About the program
There will be a brief introduction of the Eva Duda Dance Company. There will be no more fixed programmes for the night, but there will be many opportunities to get to know the company:
- A photo exhibition documenting the first 10 years of the company’s work. This will take place between the entrance and the lounge
- Screenings of video extracts from the repertoire of the Eva Duda Dance Company, which will be shown in the lounge
- Short pop-up performances presented by the dancers of the company all through the night, also in the lounge
- Music to dance and move to after a whole day of sitting in theatre seats. Enjoy this in the concert hall
- Free networking with Hungarian artists and international guests. Everyone will enjoy and benefit from this including those who didn’t get a chance to present their work this time.
Guests are free to move from one programme to another; to chat whilst savouring a drink, and relax in the freedom from any further obligations or duties.
Eva Duda Dance Company
Éva Duda Dance Company was founded ten years ago and it has now become one of the leading independent contemporary dance groups in Hungary. Their productions attempt to bridge the conventional with the most progressive styles. This combination offers people an opportunity to appreciate the unconventional, the irregular, the abstract, and the complex. In short, their mission is to introduce contemporary art to new audiences and social circles. The company is famous for the highly skilled performers who engage with the ideas of Eva. In addition, they regularly invite and host other guest choreographers, both from and outside of Hungary. Besides dance, theatre and circus shows, the company also acts as a production house. They organize professional and semi-professional workshops and courses. They bring festivals and smaller events to life, such as the Flying Bodies Festival. The Company is based at Juranyi Incubator House, where their Movein Studio is open for artists who are searching for residency places, and where the company has been running their youth educational project for several years now. They successfully continue to reach out to the audience of the future. They are an all-around organization with big ideas and plans. They aim to change the future of performing arts and are devoted to addressing social issues.
